Christmas in Unusual Colours

I've been playing with Lovely As A Tree again recently.  It really is a remarkably versatile stamp set which can be used for all sorts of occasions.  I've been putting it through its Christmas paces, but twinned with a couple of unusual colour choices.

First up is a blue, black and white combination for 52 {Christmas} Card Throwdown with a star for Crafty Hazelnut's 'Twinkle Twinkle Little Star' Christmas challenge.  I'm using the sketch from last week's 52 {C}CT challenge which I didn't get time to enter.

The paper, perhaps surprisingly, is from Beyond the Garden, a very bright collection of floral papers. The shapes sort of remind me of snow so I thought it worked.

Supplies
Stamps: Lovely As A Tree
Ink: Pacific Point
Card: Whisper White, Basic Black
Paper: Beyond the Garden Designer Series Paper
Other: Big Shot, star die and white glitter card (non-SU)

The second card uses the rather more subtle palate of Pink Pirouette and Baja Breeze, this week's colour combination for Dynamic Duos.

I squished my ink pads to get some ink on the inside of the lid and then painted it onto my scene with my Aquapainter.  It's very subtle, but  reminds me of those soft winter colours you sometimes see at dawn.  This was mounted on another non-Christmas paper and then Pink Pirouette card before scoring a couple of lines for definition.  I left the sentiment off as it could actually work as a winter birthday card or maybe a sympathy card as well as what I had in mind when I made it.

Supplies
Stamps: Lovely As A Tree
Ink: Basic Black, Pink Pirouette, Baja Breeze
Card: Whisper White, Pink Pirouette
Paper: Twitterpated Designer Series Paper
Other: Aquapainter, Simply Scored Board

I'd also like to enter both cards into the Christmas in July challenge at Card Crafter's Circle.
