Animal Talk

I've got something fun and a little different to share with you today, using yet another new stamp set.  I know, I'm spoiling you, aren't I?!  This set is called Animal Talk and it caught my eye straightaway as it includes a picture of a cat... no surprises there then.  It first appeared in last year's catalogue but I resisted until this last order when I succumbed to its cute charms!

This is its first outing:

I began by colouring the bird stamp with marker pens and stamping onto a scrap of Very Vanilla card, before cutting out with a circle die.  The Early Espresso card behind it is embossed with the lovely Woodgrain embossing folder.  I secured a short length of Natural Trim round and punched out some leaves with my Bird Builder Punch.  The actual greeting for the bird is 'bird talk for you're sweet' but I need a birthday card for the end of the week so I changed it.  Then it was simply a case of layering up the different pieces.  The inside of the card has the bird image stamped again.

Supplies
Stamps: Animal Talk
Ink: marker pens in Early Espresso, Garden Green, Pacific Point and Tempting Turquoise
Card: Naturals White, Very Vanilla, Early Espresso
Other: Bird Builder Punch, Natural Trim, circle dies, Woodgrain embossing folder and BigShot

A few more snippets used up here so I can go for a second go on the swings over in the Playground.  Yippee!

I was in my blog stats yesterday when I noticed that I was getting a lot of hits from a pin on Pinterest. When I clicked on it to have a look at what it was expecting to see my card that was published in a magazine last year, I was gobsmacked to see that it is in fact one of my cat pictures!  Those poor people on Pinterest hoping to come to see pure cat pictures probably get a shock when they arrive at a crafting blog!  Hope you enjoy today's kitty:

Thanks for stopping by,
