It's been a difficult day today as Socks has been in for dental surgery. He was anaesthetised (I mean, who'd want to get that near to a cat's teeth when they're awake?!) after some blood tests, and had all his teeth descaled, with one extracted. This is to try to help with the virus that he was diagnosed with a few weeks ago. He looks a bit like a punk rocker cat now with his various bald patches and bloody mouth, but he's already eating a bit. (Socks is like his mum; neither of us is good at being nil by mouth!) We're back at the vet's on Saturday for a post-op check and then again in a month to have some more blood tests as there were a few anomalies, but that might just be a result of his recent illness.
Here's a photo of my brave Socks with his trendy new knee patches:
I'll be back with a card tomorrow but I'm so sleepy that I'm just going to veg in front of the telly tonight - not like me at all!
Awwwwh, Socks! I have some jeans that look like that! You poor little sausage, I really hope you are feeling better soon - tell that mum of yours that nice tender prawns would go down a treat ... but don't tell her I said so. Biggest of furry hugs, Sxxx

ReplyDeletePoor Socks, hope he is feeling better soon and that fur grows quickly. Also, had cats with poorly teeth that needed discaling and their gums suffer a little :(
ReplyDeleteHope you are feeling more like yourself tomorrow, take care xx
Aww, poor little Socks. Perhaps he knee-ds some knee-high socks? Ok, I'll stop now!

I think we are both doing the same. I have Create and Craft waffling in the background while I blog hop!! I even have the fire lit as I am soo cold and tired!
Do you think the Elves will let us have a wood burner in the tree house or do you think that really is a bit dangerous?!!!
Hugs
xx
Bless little Socks; such a brave one. :-D
ReplyDeleteAw, bless him - those little patches are so cute.
ReplyDeleteThank you so much Victoria for the beautiful card which arrived today. It was waiting here when I returned from a friend's funeral and perked me up so much :)
Hugs, Di xx
Poor baby. I hope you both get a good night's rest.
ReplyDeletePoor little guy! Give him a hug for me. I know how you must be feeling. My Brady is family and one of the biggest blessings in my life. Nothing is as wonderful to snuggle up to as a cat!
ReplyDeletePoor V! Of course you're going to vegetate tonight! Moms always have anaethesia vicariously when petty kids have surgery. And all, man or beast, hate dental work. I hope you are both feeling more like yourselves in the days ahead and he heals without incident!!
ReplyDeleteAhh bless him. Hope the bloods come back ok. I hope you enjoyed your telly x
ReplyDeleteAww bless poor little Socks-and his little bald knees,i hope he feels better very soon :) x

ReplyDeleteOh, I hope your sweet boy gets better quickly! That's a rough go with the dental surgery--I think my Joseph is going to have to have dental surgery soon. I know what you mean about vegging out in front of the TV--I've been tired all week!
ReplyDeleteOh, he is SO cute! I had a cat very similar named Tuxedo. I just love black and white, with white socks! He's adorable. I hope he feels better VERY soon. I have always had cats, and always will. They are wonderful family members! Hugs to both of you. :D
ReplyDeleteHi Victoria, I really hope Socks feels better soon - I know how it feels when they are under the weather and there isn't much you can do to help them! I'm sure he will be better in no time and back on your craft desk :)
ReplyDeleteLove his knee patches you should keep them ! He is a real looker what a cutie and do hope all is well and that he is back to his old self soon.
