I've got a new friend for you all to meet today. I brought him all the way from Switzerland a couple of years ago. The packet called him Lampi. He was empty of stuffing at that point; merely an empty shell of fur. But recently I stuffed him, sewed up his bottom (ouch!) and dressed him. Minimal sewing required for a cute little creation... woo hoo! (I'm seriously tempted to start making some of my own soft toys....... no, Victoria, you have no more time to start another hobby, plus you can't sew to save your life......)
I made up a little paper carrot for him to hold out of Pumpkin Pie and Old Olive patterned paper. I ran the Old Olive paper through my paper crimper to make it look more realistic. A couple of die cuts and a stamped sentiment (it's from Tea Shoppe, but split onto three lines using my marker pen and stamp-a-ma-jig) finish it off.
A food-related cat picture today:
Thanks for visiting,
Hi Victoria

Lampi is so cute! I have a sewing machine here which I've made a couple of items on but I don't think I'll ever be a sewing fanatic! I've used my machine on a few of my cards and scrapbook layouts! Enjoy the rest of your day!

Lampi is lovely! Love his snazzy checked shirt. xx
ReplyDeleteSeriously cute. Love the carrot! x
ReplyDeleteAww, he's so cute! Sue x
ReplyDeleteHe is just adorable, Victoria! You did an excellent job of sewing, unless I'm going blind!! The question is, will the Sockster be jealous??
ReplyDeleteSo proud of your sewing!!! Lampi is adorably cute! I agree--it is so much fun to make animals (and dolls too) that it just causes you to want to drop everything else and keep making creatures! I keep saying, we all need more hands to do all the things we want to do at once! Looks like you are having fun today. Hugs! --Sandy Leigh
ReplyDeleteSOOOO CUTE!!!!!!!! Love Lampi:)) Such a brill expression on his face and the shirt is amazing! Who says you can't sew? You may end up getting orders you know. Hugs, Buttons x
ReplyDeleteoh he is adorable!!!! :)
ReplyDeleteCute bear Victoria and you say you can't sew, are you sure?
ReplyDeleteI'm sure he'll take pride of place on your desk or bed :)
Have a good evening SU
Oops that was meant to be xx not SU lol xx
ReplyDeleteHow cute is he?! I have grand ideas of sewing things, but can't sew for toffee either! I'll just stick to the cardmaking. His carrot is really clever, too.
ReplyDeleteAwh! What a cutie! He looks very happy with that carrot! I hope he and Socks have made friends.
ReplyDeleteROFL on the bird feeder! Love the bunny and I can't even remember how many stuffed animals and toys I've sewn over the years for kids and grands. But then, sewing was my first creative love in the early years of raising a family. I still do a lot of quilting but the days of making the family wardrobes is long over, I'm afraid.
ReplyDeleteOh sew cute! xxx
ReplyDeleteCute bear lol we have those here and you stuff them, dress them and walk away with a cutie cuddly bear.
ReplyDeleteLampi is just precious, and you did a great job with getting him presentable for the Public. Loved the cartoon! Our squirrels would love it too. We watch them from our kitchen window, trying to figure out how to get on a birdfeeder...which they usually manage to figure out a way. They are fun to watch, but oh, can be so destructive to property. TFS. The cartoon made me laugh.
ReplyDeleteOh he's so cute Victoria and I love his shirt! BTW you didn't get out of sync with your commenting it's because I scheduled my post:)

Nice Bunny there Victoria. Glad you stuffed him even if you do not like sewing that much! Not sure I fancy eating the carrots there though. Plenty of roughage! LOL!
