It's a Mocha Morning!

Good morning my lovely blogging friends, I hope you're having a good week.  Today's card combines the delicious colours of Crumb Cake and Early Espresso from Dynamic Duos and the sketch from Simply Stampin'... mmm... it's making me hungry already... and that's before I add Mocha Morning paper into the mix...

The image is from the lovely Tea Shoppe set and it looks great stamped in Early Espresso - it really picks out the detail of the cup.  I wanted to die cut the tea cup in a circle shape so I did some clever jiggery pokery to work part of the cup handle out of the die.  It's the first time I've done this and I was surprised at how easy it is.  Mocha Morning, a lovely set of papers in neutral tones, was made for these challenges so I was keen to wangle it in there.

Supplies
Stamps: Tea Shoppe
Ink: Early Espresso
Card: textured Crumb Cake, Early Espresso, Whisper White
Paper: Mocha Morning Speciality Designer Series Paper
Other: Victoria crochet trim, border punch (non-SU), circle die and BigShot

The lovely thing (ok, one of the lovely things) about cats is that they know they are superior to us lowly humans, and they never miss an opportunity to prove it:

Thanks so much for visiting my blog today - have a lovely day!

  2. Fabulous card!!! I agree that taking part of an image outside a die isn't really hard (when you know how) BUT, the trick is how you design it and the handle here is so clever!

  15. And so you have done all the coffee and cake inspirations proud, even adding a new flavor! How delicious can you get?!!

(Sorry if I gave you a trauma about the baby bird and squirrel. As I knew where the story was going, it never occurred to me that peeps would think it was going somewhere traumatic. No fear, I would never write about that - God forbid it should ever happen.)

My Mum has two Burmese kittens and they are a handful to say the least. She had some new chairs delivered this week and before they could even get the plastic off them, they boys were already checking them out! New chairs and my Mum & Dad ending up sitting on the floor :)

    Have a lovely evening xx
