Feeling Blue?

Well, you should play along with Make My Monday this week as Mynnette's final colour wheel challenge is to use three analogous colours, or light blue, turquoise and dark blue to be more precise.  I decided this would be the perfect chance to try and make a rosette with my scoring board.

I made the rosette in the cheat's way: scoring across the diameter of a die cut scalloped circle, snipping to the centre and then concertina folding before sticking to another folded in exactly the same way.  I layered up circles using the greeting from Happiest Birthday Wishes.  Now, has anyone noticed the problem?  Yes, Eagle Eyes.... two shades of blue and not a hint of turquoise to be seen.  Grr...

So then I made this rather quickly before dinner:

It uses one of the three small teacups from Tea Shoppe, twinned with some (turquoise) baker's twine and polka dots embossing.

Hope today's cat makes you smile as much as it did me:

Thanks for stopping by! An especially big wave to my new followers... where have you all come from?  I'm suddenly all popular!

  5. I adore your rosette card so much that I hadn't noticed the turquoise ommission - truth be told, the folds made it look like there were several shades of blue there anyway!! Love the second card too. Clever you getting two done in one day. Hugs, Buttons x

  10. I love your rosette, Victoria, and I've got to admit that I have yet to master that technique. I've tried, but they keep popping apart. I'll have to give it a try your way cause this is just a wonderful card. I can see it as a congratulations card too. And I love the sweet teacup peeking out from the dots! I think I'd order a cat that didn't require any assembly, thank you. Even though he looks like a sweetie.

  11. Me, I sent them! JK, it's your fab work and delightful cat pics! Oh, and don't forget the toffee enticement, too! Seriously, I'm happy you're ever so popular and hope you don't forget me in your meteoric rise to the stars!

I like how you explained the rosette process on your beautiful card and I especially like how you explained analogous because that sounds like something a stereo might do, or a lumberjack. Just a thought if you ever forget a color again (which has happened to me), you can just draw around the very edge of your white card base with the missing color so it looks like another paper layer. I'm a trickster, but you knew that.

Love your sweet "legal" teacup card, too!
