Diamond Wedding Anniversary

It's not every day you're asked to make a card for a diamond wedding anniversary, so I really had to rack my brains for this one.  I like anniversary cards to be fairly simple yet elegant, and I didn't want it to be more for the lady than the gentleman, so this is what I came up with:

I cut a panel of white card and embossed the hearts across the middle using one of my Adorning Accents embossing folders.  I fastened the ribbon around the middle to make more of a feature of it.  I die cut the numbers 6 and 0 out of white card and attached rhinestones (not real diamonds!).  I couldn't think what to do about the hearts as I didn't think I had a heart die and I knew my hand drawn ones wouldn't look too good against such a crisp design, but then I noticed to my delight that the alphabet dies set I cut the numbers out of also has two different heart designs (as well as general punctuation marks, a button and a flower)!  This was then mounted onto an offcut of silver card and secured to a card blank.

Supplies
Card: Whisper White, silver card and scalloped edge 5" card blank (non-SU)
Other: Adorning Accents embossing folder, Timeless Time Junior Alphabet dies, rhinestones, silver ribbon (non-SU)

A final reminder that today is the last day you can get free brads and ribbons with your order, as well as the last day you can order Everyday Enchantment paper.  Click here for more details.

I'd like to enter this into the 'monochrome' challenge at Charisma Cardz and enter a second time into the 'clean and simple' challenge at Card Crafters' Circle.  And as no new sheets of card were harmed in the creation of this card, I can go and play in the Snippets Playground too.

Well, didn't our gymnasts excel yesterday?  What an amazing performance!  I loved watching them, and the rowers too.  What a fabulous row by Katherine Grainger and Anna Watkins... surely it's their year for gold?!  I haven't seen any of the equestrian events so will try to catch up a bit today.  In honour of the Olympics, today's feline is demonstrating physical strength and determination:

Thanks so much for visiting me today, and an especially big thanks if you are a follower or leave a comment... it means so much to me!
