Cherish the Moments

I didn't get round to blogging yesterday... I am feeling a bit sorry for myself with a cold (sniff) but I've put in the effort today (sniff)....

I've been asked to make a card for a new arrival which was a great chance to play with these cute little stamps from Baby Prints in the Summer Mini.  I'm also going to use them later in the week (I hope) to make a layout featuring my little nephew, so stay tuned for that.

Here's the card:

I started with this sketch from 365 cards.  Yes, really, just squint a bit.  OK, a lot.  I stamped the baby footprints in Blushing Bride, cut out into a circle, inked the edges and then mounted onto a fancy die cut layer.  So far so good with the sketch.

Then I mounted onto some textured Whisper White card stock and stamped the sentiment, with a couple of pearls as a nod to the bling on the sketch.  This was when it all started to go a little bit off-sketch.  I die cut the panel to sit beneath and embossed it with my ever-favourite lattice embossing folder but given the size of my first panel, I couldn't get it to look right positioned diagonally.  So I left it vertical.  And that meant the ribbon didn't look right.  So I left it off.  And I thought it looked better with a square card base so I changed that too.  But I promise I did start with the sketch!

Supplies
Stamps: Baby Prints
Ink: Blushing Bride
Card: Whisper White, textured Whisper White, Blushing Bride
Other: pearls, stamp-a-ma-jig, Framelits Labels Collection dies, lattice embossing folder, Picot Edge circle dies (non-SU)

Gosh I hope I haven't caught man flu!  Ladies, we all know how bad an affliction that can be, don't we?  Anyway thanks for joining me today!

  9. Aw, geez, now I feel bad for sending you two emails when you're feeling all snotty. Please don't get the man flu. Please tell me women can't get the man flu. I thought men were born with that. I don't usually call it the flu.

Even sniffly your post is hysterical. Lots of excuses going on there, really funny ones, and whatever your intention was, your end-result card is beautiful!!!! There I broke my left pinkie, I hope you're happy.
