Autumn Thanks

Thank you ever so much for your kind encouragement for my tag in my last post.  I realised it has been way too long since I inked up in my favourite colours, so quickly cracked on to make this autumnal thank you card:

I used this week's sketch from Mojo Monday because I liked the way I could include a number of layers while still maintaining a clean feel overall.  I cracked open my new Sweater Weather Designer Paper for this project too - oh dear, I think I have a new favourite paper collection!  The leaves were inked up with marker pens to make them multi-coloured.  I love how arty they look.  Here's a closer look:

Stamps: Oh, Hello and Gently Falling
Ink: Soft Suede, marker pens in Crushed Curry, Cajun Craze and Cherry Cobbler
Card: Whisper White, Crumb Cake
Paper: Sweater Weather Designer Series Paper
Other: oval Framelits and BigShot, Natural trim ribbon, Old Olive taffeta ribbon, linen thread, stamp-a-ma-jig, Dotted Scallop Ribbon Border punch

I'm having a personal battle at the moment between my freezing hands and my determination not to turn the heating on until October... corrrrr blimey, it has turned cold, hasn't it?  My husband has just installed something called Living Desktop onto his laptop, which is a programme where the desktop background picture is a video with sound.  I was quite amused to see his attempt to make me feel warmer yesterday as he had set up a picture of a log fire on his screen and positioned his laptop on the coffee table in front of me..... it's just not quite the same thing though, is it?!

I have a Harry Potter themed kitty for you today, who also happens to look very like Socks!

Pop back tomorrow for something completely different!  Thanks for visiting,

  1. Love your autumnal card, Victoria - those leaves look amazing! And yes, very chilly - can I recommend a hot water bottle placed at the small of the back - sends the warmth all the way round the body! Or are hot water bottles too wintry too?!

Sorry to have missed so much - prepping for house move coupled with stupid work schedules... nice to take a brief break in Craftyblogland!

  2. This is a lovely card, great design and love the Autumnal colours. Hugs, Claire x

  3. A beautiful Autumnal card Victoria.

  4. Such a lovely card, great colours

  5. This is lovely Victoria, fabulous papers and your multi-coloured leaves look great.
I know what you mean about the heating, I think I'm going to have to find my fingerless gloves out!

  6. What beautiful leaves and so pretty with this paper! Stay warm!

  7. Beautiful card Victoria, love those leaves! Pregnant ladies should not be cold, you need pampering:)

  8. Lovely colors on this pretty card. And I absolutely love these leaves. This set is on my wish list. Perfect colors chosen to look like an autumn leaf. Liking that DP as well. Funny about your temp drop. Ours was 69F this morning about 9:30, but warmed up as the day progressed. Our weather will prob'ly be very nice until mid-October. I hope we have a little interval when the a/c goes off - before the heat goes on - when we can open a few windows and get a little fresh air to get us through the winter. Glad to hear all is well, things are busy. Rest when you can. TFS & Hugs

  9. This is a really lovely card! The leaves are so beautiful & it gets you in the mood for fall. I know what you mean about turning cold. It is cold here in Iowa tonite too, but tomorrow the temperature is supposed to climb back to almost 100. I love your hubby's idea of the log fire. You have to admit it was a sweet effort!

  10. Such a beautiful autumnal card Victoria - those leaves look real! We seem to have gone straight into winter and missed out autumn and it is cold. Much amused at your husband's idea with the virtual log fire but my top tip is a hot water bottle and a thick rug over the knees! Vicky x

  11. So sorry I haven't visited for a while. This is gorgeous Victoria, the leaves are wonderful, very arty, like you said - such yummy warm colours xx
