Acetate... Used Voluntarily!

Yes, that's right, today's card features acetate which I used without being forced!  As the Autumn/Winter mini catalogue draws to a close on the 31st January, I thought I'd take the opportunity to showcase a few of my favourite stamp sets that will be retiring.  I have loved playing with the Ornament Keepsakes set and coordinating dies, but so far I have only made 3D type ornaments on cards.  Here I have gone 2D but overset the ornaments over a layer of the most beautiful acetate with a flocked design on it.  Come and have a look:

I cut out a panel from the white card and replaced it with the acetate.  I stuck over some red card on the reverse to secure the acetate in place and to make the inside a bit more attractive.  I stamped the ornaments in Real Red to coordinate with the flock, cut out with the matching dies, punched a hole in the top of each with my Crop-a-dile and tied some white baker's twine through.  The ornaments were then secured back over the panel.

As the card uses a snippet, I'll be popping along to play in Di's playground and it's Rudolph Day at Sarn's blog so double playtime for me!

Supplies
Stamps: Ornament Keepsakes
Ink: Real Red
Card: Real Red (on the inside), Whisper White, white hammered embossed card (non-SU)
Paper: the acetate is from the Candlelight Christmas set which will retire on the 31st January
Other: white baker's twine (retired), Ornament dies and BigShot, Crop-a-dile

Remember that's is currently Sale-a-bration so any order of £45 means you can choose from a freebie!  Placing an order couldn't be easier: just give me a ring on 07977 141605 or email me.

My parents have just got a dog and I cannot wait to meet him.  They have wanted a dog for 27 years, they tell me, unfortunately my brother and I changed their plans!  He's a black labrador, 8 months old and was abandoned.  He is currently enjoying the snow, taking all his new toys out into it and, not content with that, he has also snaffled my mum's walking socks out of the house!  So on that note, here is today's picture:

Thanks for visiting,

I have never used acetate and liked the result - it's just not my 'thing' at all... acetate hates me *lol*
Anyway... I was just popping over from Pixie's Place to say "Hi!"...

  11. Absolutely love what you did on this card. Your acetate is so 'sparkly', (not sure that is the right adjective!)but the design popped right off the page when I saw it. The flocking is beautiful. Your 2D ornaments are so perfect with this design. Love your new 'brother' too. Labs make wonderful pets...they are so loving. I'm glad this little orphan found a caring home. TFS
