Hello! Yes, I'm alive! The start of term has been manically busy but I'm loving it! I've still got lots to get used to, but it's so nice to be working again. Thank you to everyone for putting up with the long silence on the blogging front. I caught up with comments a couple of weekends ago, but it took five hours(!) which meant I had no time to craft myself, and then this weekend just gone I didn't have a chance to do anything crafty, but I made time last night to make something using Kathy's Waffle sketch for this month.
I used my Trendy Trees stamp set (retiring in just two weeks, folks!) together with a snippet (yay, playground time) of Beyond the Garden Designer Paper to make this:
I die cut a circle of patterned paper, and then chopped most of it away, securing it to a Whisper White panel. I stamped the trees using Chocolate Chip and Gumball Green, a lovely fresh green that is one the new 2012-14 in colours. The birds are from the now retired Up, Up & Away set. I mounted the scene onto Gumball Green card, before securing this to a white card base, scored seven times vertically. A couple of lengths of linen thread finish it off nicely.
Here is the sketch so you can go and join in too:
Supplies
Stamps: Trendy Trees (retiring), Up Up & Away (retired)
Ink: Chocolate Chip, Gumball Green, Basic Black
Card: Whisper White, Gumball Green
Paper: Beyond the Garden Designer Series Paper (retiring)
Other: stamp-a-ma-jig, Simply Scored board, linen thread
Thanks again for bearing with me at the moment. I do miss popping over to your blogs as frequently as I used to, but I will find some sort of balance in time! In the meantime, hope you like today's crafty offering together with two funny pictures to cater for both cat and dog lovers. I bet you're all having withdrawal symptoms without your daily funny animal photo!
