I Dare You.....

As I mentioned in my post a moment ago, as well as weekly card challenges, we are also running a monthly scrapbooking challenge at Addicted to Stamps.  This month's theme, chosen by Jacqueline, is 'celebrations' with bunting.  Do you remember the cakes I posted last week?  Well, I thought this would be the perfect opportunity to scrapbook the birthday.  Here's my very straightforward layout:

I used this week's sketch at Unscripted Sketches as my starting point as I find 12"x12" far too intimidating without some guidance on how to work with all that space.  I did add the bunting, of course, and the journalling block but I thought the sketch worked really well - simple yet stylish!  This birthday, for us, was all about being there with my husband's Granddad to celebrate which is why I chose photos of us rather than of his party.  The white, red and black theme came from the cakes (which, in turn, came from playing cards as he likes to play bridge).  I do love the interest using textured card gives to a layout, especially a fairly basic one like this.

Supplies
Stamps: none! (have I ever written this?!)
Ink: Basic Black marker
Card: Whisper White, textured Whisper White
Paper: Real Red from the Brights Designer Series Paper stack, Basic Black from the Neutrals Designer Series Paper stack
Other: foam alphabet stickers (non-SU)

As always, if any of these supplies have caught your eye, please do not hesitate to get in touch by phone on 07977 141605 or email.  I will be delighted to assist you with your crafty makes and place a SU order for you.

So there you go!  If I'm brave enough to give scrapbooking a go, you can be!  If anything, it's a lovely way of using up some of your crafting goodies and it is a nice change from making cards all the time.  Why not join in this month and scrapbook one of your celebrations?

Thanks again for stopping by,

  12. Ha! I had to laugh at your supply list. Feels weird to NOT list a stamp set ~ right? LOL
Great way to use our sketch (Unscripted Sketches). Scrapbooking is often intimidating to me; I'll have to try your method of starting with a card sketch. Thanks for joining us this week!
