I find it very hard on those "difficult days" to remember all the many things I am grateful for, so I thought I'd make one of these to help.<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgEhA3g0bmakmhWQrVImFOwHTuuYm51lNwzy8E9LHb9NeclaH57gIYYWsE2z8Liy27EBjcqWAVegiy5pZCkxM0RQQCGUeJ4sMb4UxbwR-8cXl-etzTr112kEDQ7k1rDBWxok7Vn3lXxkzjl/s1600/DSCF8345.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img adlesse_been_here="true" border="0" height="300" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgEhA3g0bmakmhWQrVImFOwHTuuYm51lNwzy8E9LHb9NeclaH57gIYYWsE2z8Liy27EBjcqWAVegiy5pZCkxM0RQQCGUeJ4sMb4UxbwR-8cXl-etzTr112kEDQ7k1rDBWxok7Vn3lXxkzjl/s400/DSCF8345.JPG" width="400" /></a></div>
<br />
The papers are from Botanical Notes by First Edition and they are beautiful. I wanted the diary to sit nice and flat, so I have very simply added some Project Life cards and notepaper in and left it at that.<br />
<br />

Bound with my Bind-it-all, it's a simple project that was gratefully received.<br />

<br />
I'm keeping this short and sweet today - it's been one of those days of frequently battling technology (and just an occasional bit of battling a toddler's willpower!).<br />

As you can imagine, it turned more into a book!<div>
<br /></div>
<div>
I made it with two bindings to allow for extra space. There were pages that folded out and some simple tabs, all left blank with a few stamped 'thank you' messages throughout.</div>
<div>
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">

The tree and grass on the cover were made using Memory Box dies and a combination of ProMarkers and SU marker pens.<br />

I used one of my favourite paper stacks ever: the lovely Mariposa stack by DCWV.<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhnS-8bcpt5O4gsT8gNLrJWkVYeiJkeOLwYoePvNq71ZJlZhbyZs3_SrxVuDvU9fJQYP4RECOqh0Zdmv8aRM9FqyoGQIuSu02yw5RVa74-NlmyDAYYjmAaFu-dVSmSo8QW956yvM1z-UTQI/s1600/DSCF6322.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img adlesse_been_here="true" border="0" height="323" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhnS-8bcpt5O4gsT8gNLrJWkVYeiJkeOLwYoePvNq71ZJlZhbyZs3_SrxVuDvU9fJQYP4RECOqh0Zdmv8aRM9FqyoGQIuSu02yw5RVa74-NlmyDAYYjmAaFu-dVSmSo8QW956yvM1z-UTQI/s400/DSCF6322.jpg" width="400" /></a></div>
<br />
<span style="color: purple;"><u>Supplies</u></span><br />
<span style="color: purple;"><b>Card: </b>Whisper White, Crumb Cake</span><br />
<span style="color: purple;"><b>Paper:</b> Mariposa by DCWV</span><br />
<span style="color: purple;"><b>Other:</b> Spellbinders Foliage dies, Timeless Type Junior Alphabet, paper flowers and green brads</span><br />
<span style="color: purple;"><br /></span>
Does anyone else struggle to use those really bold patterned papers? Sometimes I've just given up and used them as wrapping paper for small gifts because I can't tone them down enough! I think I got the balance right in this card though and as I don't make a lot with green as the main colour, I was quite pleased to get out of my comfort zone.<br />
<br />
Have a great day,<br />

The gent is a keen amateur photographer and I was asked to include this. Here's what I came up with:<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhpvbolAdHrjyLa4GDCLd_iNFNE2m2nXpl9d69uBZbR9CABRXggRHhGzkCY0pC02xoVJloYdJw2P67OERvC72PGa-tyQnA3ro50PMelfeY6BPapY0DznnBE7LVORzrbG1wWbCmPV1weMTro/s1600/DSCF6190.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img adlesse_been_here="true" border="0" height="395" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhpvbolAdHrjyLa4GDCLd_iNFNE2m2nXpl9d69uBZbR9CABRXggRHhGzkCY0pC02xoVJloYdJw2P67OERvC72PGa-tyQnA3ro50PMelfeY6BPapY0DznnBE7LVORzrbG1wWbCmPV1weMTro/s400/DSCF6190.jpg" width="400" /></a></div>
<br />
<span style="color: purple;"><u>Supplies</u></span><br />
<span style="color: purple;"><b>Stamps:</b> digi (I'm sorry, I can't for the life of me remember who it's by and a quick glance through my digistamp folders isn't yielding any success either), negative frame by Inkylicious, sentiment (again, no idea who made it)</span><br />
<span style="color: purple;"><b>Ink:</b> Basic Black, image coloured with ProMarkers</span><br />

I use the four square grid layout quite a lot. I guess we all fall back on our favourite layouts a lot of the time, which is why I love Pinterest so much because it gives me such great ideas. But what did we do before Pinterest?!<br />
<br />
Thanks for visiting today, and happy crafting,<br />

<br />
The hills were inked using a paper mask and then I used ink dusters to add the sunset sky. The silhouettes were stamped in Basic Black over the top. I matted and layered this up onto an embossed piece of Crumb Cake card.<br />
<br />
I made just over a hundred. Here they all are, lined up and ready to go:<br />

I really need to wake up this morning; I still feel half asleep even though I've up for a couple of hours. I don't like coffee much so I can't even top up on the caffeine, but if it looked like this, I might like it more:<br />

<br />
<span style="color: purple;"><u>Supplies</u></span><br />
<span style="color: purple;"><b>Stamps:</b> Two by Two</span><br />
<span style="color: purple;"><b>Ink:</b> Basic Black inkpad, Stampin' Write markers in Basic Grey, Crushed Curry, So Saffron, Pumpkin Pie, Crumb Cake, River Rock, Baja Breeze, Bashful Blue</span><br />
<span style="color: purple;"><b>Card:</b> Whisper White, Crumb Cake</span><br />
<span style="color: purple;"><b>Paper:</b> Papermania</span><br />
<span style="color: purple;"><br /></span>
My Little Crafter would love this card now. We're perfecting a number of animal noises: lion, sheep, snake, dog, etc. In fact, she loves doing them so much that we can't read her a bedtime story unless it has animals in it, and even then she only lets us read the first page before we have to point at all the animals so she can do the noises! She has a special toy dog who she sleeps with and when I went to get her up one morning last week, she was sitting in the middle of her cot making 'woof' noises to him. So cute!<br />
<br />
Today's funny picture is a photo bomb:<br />

One-layer, no masking, faffing around or any nonsense: I needed a card in a hurry and as I have a reputation for my crafting supplies, I feel like I can never buy a card to send to someone anymore!<br />

Isn't it amazing how cats end up in the unlikeliest places for a little lie down? Wispa and Rolo, to our utter amazement, as well as curling up on our bed, armchairs and sofa, also love using their cat beds!! I haven't seen them do this though:<br />

I'd seen lots of these chocolate posters on Pinterest and wanted to have a go at doing my own.<br />

Such gorgeous watercolouring that my clumsy fingers could only aspire to! I used it to make up this 8 inch card which quite a few people had to sign:<br />

Coupled with the Watercolour Wings stamp set, this paper works a real treat. The sentiment is by Waltzingmouse Stamps and was stamped on a Whisper White pennant. I didn't want to add much because the paper is so bold. Here's a close up of the blooms:<br />

I got this gorgeous wire heart frame for my mum for her birthday and filled it with photos of the grandchildren. But I couldn't help thinking it looked rather plain so I pulled out my ribbon drawer and got tying. Mr Furry Tale couldn't believe what I was doing... admittedly it was quite late at night and I ought to have been going to bed but I had left getting it wrapped till the last minute. What's a girl to do?!<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhD6zce3OAKh2FZZde6a2BuhY6dJP5Nypm-OwNJgP3aE1OW3N71PpxbsB5WvDRY7C_dwVSEVG3PJTOUbqf71l0GjjsJBFAFahUHWf9Eqs0ET_TXFbYiWzq0XsIJlt3BpQjlRvSaKrSHuEKq/s1600/DSCF8168.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img adlesse_been_here="true" border="0" height="400" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhD6zce3OAKh2FZZde6a2BuhY6dJP5Nypm-OwNJgP3aE1OW3N71PpxbsB5WvDRY7C_dwVSEVG3PJTOUbqf71l0GjjsJBFAFahUHWf9Eqs0ET_TXFbYiWzq0XsIJlt3BpQjlRvSaKrSHuEKq/s400/DSCF8168.jpg" width="300" /></a></div>
<br />
I am happy to report I practically emptied my box of ribbon snippets and used up a few ends of spools too. And mum loved it - though I suspect that might have had more to do with the photos than the ribbon!<br />
<br />

<br />
Fast cards are brilliant to get made in a nap time, and this two-step stamp set, called Happy Congratulations, from SU ticks all the boxes for me. It is simply elegant and I love it.<br />

I have had a long blogging break while adjusting to being "mummy" but it is time to get this show back on the road.<br />
<br />
I made a batch of thank you cards recently to give to the volunteers who run the crèche while us mums meet together to study the Bible. And it was just marvellous to get inky fingers once again. I masked off the top and bottom of the card and used an ink duster brush with Wisteria Wonder and Mint Macaron to fill in the middle. The image was stamped over the top in Basic Black, and the greeting was added beneath. Easy peasy and quick to replicate for a dozen.<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgDiLIRnZUIza5kF6EJCmHjVRgOEiFC_ga4IPOQjdXftK0vc7Pdrv8zjrTRCzH4ppRc0A_J-H8FYiYlwXYx6SpI7ISbBFuHkffGGa7i4lX9CWNfta7VJIy0BJ5SbqDM3VQbyqhV2b8kyHNk/s1600/DSCF8258.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img adlesse_been_here="true" border="0" height="400" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgDiLIRnZUIza5kF6EJCmHjVRgOEiFC_ga4IPOQjdXftK0vc7Pdrv8zjrTRCzH4ppRc0A_J-H8FYiYlwXYx6SpI7ISbBFuHkffGGa7i4lX9CWNfta7VJIy0BJ5SbqDM3VQbyqhV2b8kyHNk/s400/DSCF8258.jpg" width="273" /></a><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEic34lN88ynB6UcHkgquGrnljK7RkG_wVAMfkYp6NrzJbVcQGT9dAyGo_uGG9Wc57JGs4ZwUpkjbBge8mN2U-1_9BvAco6OuWGPw4IsAZdjbEs96OHRAzVuKZtovf-8pQRTuHos7_8DlEu9/s1600/DSCF8260.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img adlesse_been_here="true" border="0" height="400" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEic34lN88ynB6UcHkgquGrnljK7RkG_wVAMfkYp6NrzJbVcQGT9dAyGo_uGG9Wc57JGs4ZwUpkjbBge8mN2U-1_9BvAco6OuWGPw4IsAZdjbEs96OHRAzVuKZtovf-8pQRTuHos7_8DlEu9/s400/DSCF8260.jpg" width="280" /></a></div>
<br />
The fronts were made from Whisper White card and then mounted on Naturals White for a lovely bit of tone on tone, and benefitting from extra stability.<br />
<br />
I was hoping to make them all using the Inkylicious image on the left, but Mr Furry Tale said that it was a bit 'girly' for the lads, so I made some with the oak tree image.<br />
<br />

If you have been reading my blog for a while, you will remember Socrates, or Socks to his friends, after whom we named the blog. Sadly Socks died in January, but we didn't remain a feline-free house for long, adopting two little kittens to the Furry Tale clan. Meet Wispa and Rolo!<br />
<br />

<br />
Adopted from a local animal rescue shelter, Wispa (left) and Rolo (right) are sister and brother, and are now six months old. Absolutely bonkers, tearing around the house looking for mischief, having fun with My Little Crafter.... they are a great addition to the house.<br />
<br />
A quick note in case you were looking for the comments button: I have decided to disable commenting. I want to get back into blogging because I hope it will help me schedule some regular downtime for myself, but I won't have the time to craft <i>and</i> reply to comments. I will feel awful if I don't reply to everyone, so it's easier just to disable the function, but rest assured, I do regularly check out what you're all up to even if I stay quiet!<br />
<br />
Thanks for popping by and I will be back soon.<br />

I do hope no-one has been affected by the terrible weather.<div>
<br /></div>
<div>
I am sorry I haven't posted on here for so long. Family matters have been much more pressing. I hope to be blogging a little in January, before being preoccupied with the pitter patter of Baby Furry Tale's arrival!</div>
<div>
<br /></div>
<div>
As Baby FT's arrival isn't too far away now, I just wanted to let you know that I will not be continuing as an active SU demonstrator, which means I cannot take any orders you might want to place. We are about to enter a really exciting time in the SU calendar though, with the launch of the spring/summer catalogue and the start of Sale-a-bration, so if you are keen to order yourself some SU products, I would like to recommend my wonderful upline <a href="http://craftingclare.blogspot.co.uk/" target="_blank">Vicky Hayes</a> who will be delighted to help you.</div>
<div>
<br /></div>
<div>
Thank you so much for supporting my Stampin' Up business!</div>
<div>
<br /></div>
<div>
Happy New Year!</div>

Head over to the <a href="http://stamping-ground.blogspot.co.uk/2013/10/whats-on-your-workdesk-wednesday-228.html" target="_blank">Stamping Ground</a> to join in in the fun yourself! This is what my desk looks like today:<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">

<br />
A lovely lady who I met a few years ago in a garden centre craft shop recently gave me lots of cardmaking kits that she didn't want anymore. I'm trying to use them up and make lots of Christmas cards to sell this year, which is why my desk is covered in little bits of découpage. Not my usual thing (I do love stamping!) but it's nice to do something different and it's nice to see things physically being used up!<br />
<br />
Right, off to glue some more...<br />
<br />
I'll be popping around to nosey at a load of desks later. Thanks for stopping by,<br />

I took a week to get on with everything other than crafting - it's a great hobby we have, but it does tend to take over sometimes! Anyway, I'm hoping to have lots of lovely inspiration to share with you this week, starting with this absolutely gorgeous black and white card made for me by Alison as part of the cardswap group.<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjBns93tQajtPo3ePh5NAvvJZcjgnv60vcy45eD6XQadvDOR_fxKID-K2MjAFtIz_UZv9Wk4maHaWFDibz3oNX7GKHKNfSoP23qiXD2Pi2amjPQNRQH6j5RGw4n53jTkNQoIDuERRAmgjNp/s1600/DSCF6313.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="262" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjBns93tQajtPo3ePh5NAvvJZcjgnv60vcy45eD6XQadvDOR_fxKID-K2MjAFtIz_UZv9Wk4maHaWFDibz3oNX7GKHKNfSoP23qiXD2Pi2amjPQNRQH6j5RGw4n53jTkNQoIDuERRAmgjNp/s400/DSCF6313.JPG" width="400" /></a></div>
<br />
Just look at that beautiful bow! I can never get mine to look that neat. Thank you Alison - I absolutely love it.<br />
<br />
You'll be glad to know that I stumbled upon a new source of funny animal pictures last week so I think I've got my blog covered until summer next year... I'm sure many cat owners (sorry, cat servants) will understand today's picture. The grass is always greener...<br />

Joining SU at any time is great value (for £99 you can choose £130 of goodies plus you get a business kit worth £45 thrown in as well!) but for the next two weeks you can join for just £25.<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgo_Pu1g23DQyJuMVmewgiLPdl2vH-V-NZhwYZcJ2caf8IIoUAOGIOAiQ2CgV_XAH2QPFrLgpG3qmXpDm71x6MfaJRaeoPPgah-6LF9q6w1W9Air_vnzGb1SGiqz15k5LXTBF7HylhPimub/s1600/1392588_10151681108201603_1003115567_n.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="235" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgo_Pu1g23DQyJuMVmewgiLPdl2vH-V-NZhwYZcJ2caf8IIoUAOGIOAiQ2CgV_XAH2QPFrLgpG3qmXpDm71x6MfaJRaeoPPgah-6LF9q6w1W9Air_vnzGb1SGiqz15k5LXTBF7HylhPimub/s400/1392588_10151681108201603_1003115567_n.jpg" width="400" /></a></div>
For £25 here are the perks you get to enjoy:<br />
<br />
<ul>
<li>You can choose £26.95 of Stampin' Up! products.</li>
<li>You will also receive £45 worth of business supplies for free.</li>
<li>As usual, you receive a 30% discount on your first order if it is £150 or more and placed within 45 days. You then receive a 20% discount on all orders placed after that (a great perk which I love!).</li>
<li>As we have started the final quarter of 2013, you have until April 2013 to place orders of £275 or more to stay a demo. Why not ask a friend to arrange a party for you around Christmas time so everyone can get some lovely Christmas prezzies?! If you don't want to carry on, that's absolutely fine and you still keep all your goodies!</li>
<li>There are lots of freebies available for new demos to earn - get in touch if you'd like to know more about these other perks!</li>
<li>And how exciting is this: if you join in the next couple of days, you can also register to come to Convention in Manchester (the deadline for this is 10th October). Convention is a fabulous get-together of lots of demonstrators from Europe, with lots of freebies, prizes, swaps, business advice, make and takes and all manner of other excitement. I'm going and I can't wait!</li>
<li>As part of my team, you will also receive a handmade card and gift, and a handbook to get you started. Help and support from me is always just a phone call or email away, and you will also be part of the wider SU family - we're a very friendly bunch!</li>
</ul>
<div>
<br /></div>
<div>
So if you are from the Netherlands, Austria, Germany, France or the UK and if you are interested in this fabulous offer to become a demonstrator, then please don't hesitate to get in touch. Give me a ring on 07977 141605 or <a href="mailto:furrytalecards@gmail.com" target="_blank">email</a> me. If you're already convinced, click <a href="https://ida.stampinup.com/?demoid=5004090" target="_blank">here to join now</a>. You don't have to make SU a business; lots of people just enjoy the discounts to make the most of their crafting addiction!</div>
<div>
<br /></div>
<div>
I would never pressure you to join and would like to give you as much information as you'd like in order for you to make a wise decision, unlike this kitty!</div>

I rarely try to incorporate patterned paper because I get bogged down in layers, so with this card I experimented a little.<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgzxVsm-vOAdBt8F5V0fsZ86SZQKloh-wDQ6lYpP8ziDR3WWPOxzlkEvjyF6cGPKmSvQSLIojmEzy24egArKm541p72MOyPB8OPxu_nnqzp-boWAa2BJQxhKmKgsWTnNqQq1GNIgby_u90o/s1600/DSCF6302.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img adlesse_been_here="true" border="0" height="400" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgzxVsm-vOAdBt8F5V0fsZ86SZQKloh-wDQ6lYpP8ziDR3WWPOxzlkEvjyF6cGPKmSvQSLIojmEzy24egArKm541p72MOyPB8OPxu_nnqzp-boWAa2BJQxhKmKgsWTnNqQq1GNIgby_u90o/s400/DSCF6302.JPG" width="395" /></a></div>
<br />
The birthday girl's favourite colour is purple which I rarely use, so this was even more out of my comfort zone. I like the idea of using a negative but I think the purple paper should be mounted onto another layer of card to lift it a little. Kraft always works, doesn't it?!<br />

I had a birthday card to make in a hurry and I dug out a stamp set, Apothecary Art, that I haven't used for ages.<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhwClpOa6N5fO7tBtcP3g26OQde8OQ1Qqr2vJe7wGEs0SuUfFS7e9RDLhjyr6-8fHgf2HOczvw7PSTCmUAMza5i4GmzKSDMDsBb9qaORaI15kivAuhTuYRRvfm76KJvx2GORP21ojomQdu9/s1600/DSCF6305.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img adlesse_been_here="true" border="0" height="398" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhwClpOa6N5fO7tBtcP3g26OQde8OQ1Qqr2vJe7wGEs0SuUfFS7e9RDLhjyr6-8fHgf2HOczvw7PSTCmUAMza5i4GmzKSDMDsBb9qaORaI15kivAuhTuYRRvfm76KJvx2GORP21ojomQdu9/s400/DSCF6305.JPG" width="400" /></a></div>
<br />
I coloured the flowers in a mixture of markers before die-cutting the frame out with a Label die. The sentiment was stamped on a separate piece of card and then added to the centre of the flowers. Both papers are from the beautiful Sweater Weather collection (which I really love), mounted onto More Mustard card (this has retired, but a girl has to use up her snippets if she's going to play in the <a href="http://pixiescraftyworkshop.blogspot.co.uk/" target="_blank">Playground</a>!).<br />
<br />
<span style="color: #783f04;"><u>Supplies</u></span><br />
<span style="color: #783f04;"><b>Stamps:</b> Apothecary Art</span><br />
<span style="color: #783f04;"><b>Ink:</b> Crushed Curry, Pumpkin Pie, Daffodil Delight markers, Soft Suede</span><br />
<span style="color: #783f04;"><b>Card:</b> More Mustard (retired), Whisper White</span><br />
<span style="color: #783f04;"><b>Paper:</b> Sweater Weather Designer Series Paper</span><br />
<span style="color: #783f04;"><b>Other:</b> Labels Framelits & BigShot</span><br />
<span style="color: #783f04;"><br /></span>
I'm off to have a rummage through my stamp sets now to dig out some other old favourites to have a play with!<br />

<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEj-7_mG9s-Vsd_ICUAh2uKTcst2nfG9LonsIW3FyjCs4lK6jkoVnDbO_-fgUtTkqlIoxjhtZzs7Pa9uEpazHsSRQ_vaZ3ZaVVwfhQCtTXfwa58m1-SNpJbv6AlvNZGGjJjmtHfV7Q3oS5Uv/s1600/DSCF6311.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img adlesse_been_here="true" border="0" height="400" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEj-7_mG9s-Vsd_ICUAh2uKTcst2nfG9LonsIW3FyjCs4lK6jkoVnDbO_-fgUtTkqlIoxjhtZzs7Pa9uEpazHsSRQ_vaZ3ZaVVwfhQCtTXfwa58m1-SNpJbv6AlvNZGGjJjmtHfV7Q3oS5Uv/s400/DSCF6311.JPG" width="393" /></a></div>
<br />
This was made for the card swap group I am part of; the challenge last month was to make the sentiment the main focus. I used a <a href="http://furrytalecardsandcrafts.blogspot.co.uk/2013/08/friendship.html" target="_blank">layout</a> I enjoyed working with recently but swapped the sentiment to match these bright colours. The fabulous flowers are from the terrific Flower Shop stamp set, which, of course, has a coordinating punch to make chopping out those flowers a breeze! I made the leaves using the Bird Builder Punch; I often use this punch to make quick leaves as it's much faster than die-cutting.<br />

We had drama at Furry Tale HQ last week as Socks finally decided that he could climb a tree. It didn't take long before he realised that getting down is a lot more complicated than climbing up. There followed a good ten minutes of him miaowing and yowling, before he eventually thudded down, running into the house at full speed and sleeping off the excitement for the next three hours. He loves a bit of attention! Here he is mid-miaow:<br />

I have a happy and cheery layout to share with you, including all things yellow (<a href="http://thecraftylaydee.blogspot.co.uk/" target="_blank">Nessa</a>, I think it might be up your street).<br />

This was very simple to make: yellow polkadot paper layered onto Crumb Cake, with my title die cut out of both Daffodil Delight and Crumb Cake to make it stand out a little. A rummage in my drawers (ooo er Missus) produced all kinds of little yellow embellishments to finish it off.<br />

I really want to include my family in my scrapbooking, not just events, and I think Mr FT was rather chuffed with a whole layout about himself! In light of today's soppiness:<br />

Before I started scrapbooking, I thought I'd feel intimidated by filling a whole 12" layout, but I quickly realised that once I've printed off my photos, it is much easier... so now I've increased my scale!<br />
<br />
The photos are of a walk on a crisp winter's day from January 2012, and these Winter Frost Speciality papers reminded me lots of the cool tones in the pictures.<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhDC8vjPa4nzBDa1o9k9LpaWYaLHv1so6MoZIp9WymRCH8MSbJ3K60PcE_n6_v-5oTmGaUtUouP_OcY-ylyuY_okfZS2aIpXzJYYZZpzUOoprHLlT-WGjSVO-FI974YIgn2_aoqhwBcqfON/s1600/DSCF6267.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="206" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhDC8vjPa4nzBDa1o9k9LpaWYaLHv1so6MoZIp9WymRCH8MSbJ3K60PcE_n6_v-5oTmGaUtUouP_OcY-ylyuY_okfZS2aIpXzJYYZZpzUOoprHLlT-WGjSVO-FI974YIgn2_aoqhwBcqfON/s400/DSCF6267.JPG" width="400" /></a></div>
<br />
I used my Festive Flurry dies to pick out snowflakes from one of the paper designs, finishing them off with a Frosted Finish embellishment. The chevron is a new punch from the current seasonal catalogue, and behind this line of punching, I have layered a scrap of Island Indigo card to add a bit of interest.<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgDsA3TbgBmRXHOkZNvDOR754SfrVqpS8EKsTTdRoeokzy8iWQj9A536NfqcvwvrUyNs4X2wXs1EazT0DMc6uzJLlTzNuBSZ4ABbRptgRxYFOynW6ZBqrq6K5uktqjaHg36GODV3CPSCtxP/s1600/DSCF6270.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="300" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgDsA3TbgBmRXHOkZNvDOR754SfrVqpS8EKsTTdRoeokzy8iWQj9A536NfqcvwvrUyNs4X2wXs1EazT0DMc6uzJLlTzNuBSZ4ABbRptgRxYFOynW6ZBqrq6K5uktqjaHg36GODV3CPSCtxP/s400/DSCF6270.JPG" width="400" /></a></div>
<br />
I carried the punching into the lower part of the layout, using the punch scraps to stick back over the negatives to create a quirky lattice pattern.<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEg2E4ij3VKU7DeY963_puPWQTVQ-A5pZFDmvyPVlJ4sGdSAQJXG9K-58-7aXIozLbbknqKqlgQuFk1jIuF7izB3eRUqQ8ayhqAcuNJGHDrYCDR8odS1e1pX28VvQIBZt_P1tIljG1LFxxxG/s1600/DSCF6272.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="300" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEg2E4ij3VKU7DeY963_puPWQTVQ-A5pZFDmvyPVlJ4sGdSAQJXG9K-58-7aXIozLbbknqKqlgQuFk1jIuF7izB3eRUqQ8ayhqAcuNJGHDrYCDR8odS1e1pX28VvQIBZt_P1tIljG1LFxxxG/s400/DSCF6272.JPG" width="400" /></a></div>
<br />
These corners were sent to me by <a href="http://thecatatemycard.blogspot.co.uk/" target="_blank">Sherri</a> and were just the fancy swirls I needed to draw the layout together.<br />
<br />

I used an old sketch from <a href="http://sketchesinthyme.blogspot.co.uk/" target="_blank">Sketches in Thyme</a> - I am sad to see this site is on hiatus as I absolutely love their inspiration, but they do put all their sketches onto pages categorised by number of photos so I will continue to make good use of those. As I've used lots of snippets, I'll take this for a play in the <a href="http://pixiescraftyworkshop.blogspot.co.uk/" target="_blank">Playground</a>.<br />
<br />
One of the photos used in the layout is of me on a stile. Little did I know when Mr FT asked me to turn around so he could take a picture that upon the stile was the wording 'No dogs'!! I only realised when I got home and loaded the pictures onto the computer. I still find it funny even now. And on that note...<br />
